Study: Money helps with weight loss

Try to find someone who will pay you for your weight loss, or make yourself pay someone else if you don't drop the weight.
According to a Mayo Clinic study, participants in a weight loss program lost more if they were getting financial incentives.
Over the course of a year, the study followed one-hundred adults who were considered obese based on their body mass index.
They were given the goal of losing four pounds a month.
In the incentive group, those that met the four pound goal got $20, and those who didn't had to pay $20 dollars into a fund.
If they stuck with the program, they were eligible to win the money in the fund at the end of the year.
Sixty two percent of those who were earning money for weight loss stuck it out for the entire year compared to 26 percent in the group that wasn't paid.
