Study: Excess Coffee Linked to Bladder Problems
If you're a female java lover, pay close attention to this: a new study showed that women who drink a lot of caffeinated drinks every day may have a slightly increased risk of developing urinary incontinence.
Researchers found that of more than 65,000 U.S. women, those who consume four or more cups of coffee per day, were more likely to develop incontinence over four years.
However, the study found no increased risk among women consuming 299 milligrams of caffeine, or the equivalent of three cups of coffee, per day.
Researchers pointed out that the findings do not prove that caffeine caused the women's bladder-control problems.
The study was published in the Journal of Urology.
