Students plant trees for National Arbor Day
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso Parks and Recreation hosted an Arbor Day Celebration at Armijo Park.
Aoy Elementary students along side City Council Representatives joined the celebration this morning in South El Paso.
Five trees were planted today but volunteers hope to plant more throughout El Paso.
Arbor Day, originated in Nebraska in 1872 to encourage communities to plan and care for trees.
This is also the 6th year for the City of El Paso being recognized with the award of Tree City USA
