People packed the streets of Downtown El Paso Friday for the 12th annual Street Fest. The headliners are getting bigger and bigger, and organizers said they hope the big name bands will draw in record crowds.

"Street Fest, like I said, it's one if the biggest events every year, but most definitely this year we've got an amazing response especially with Bush, Adelitas Way, Third Eye Blind, Lit," said Veronica Hernandez, Live Events Manager with Townsquare Media.

Popular band, Adelita's way will open for Bush on Friday, and Lit will be the opening act for Third Eye Blind on Saturday.

Food vendors and other workers spent the day in triple digit heat setting up tents and preparing everything for the two day festival.

Organizers said there are several water booths throughout the festival, where people can purchase cool drinks throughout the evening.

Jose Rischmagui, owner of Forma Pizzeria, set up a tent and portable brick oven.

"It's very hot, very hot. 100 degrees or more than that and plus for the type of business, my oven is up to 700-800 degrees so we will cook at more than 800 degrees today, but its worth it," said Rischmagui.

It is Rischmagui's first year at Street Fest, but said he anticipated good sales because of the turnout in previous years.

Hernandez said more than 20,000 people attended Street Fest in 2012, and said they're hoping for 25,000-30,000 people this year.

Tickets for Friday's show will be $30 plus tax at the door.  Advance tickets for Friday's show are $20 plus tax and can be purchased at area 7-Eleven ALON stores.
