Stomach bug plagues Midwest
Hundreds of people in several Midwestern states have come down with a severe stomach bug and El Paso's Department of Public Health confirmed Wednesday there is one case in El Paso, but said it was not contracted locally.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said more than 250 people have been infected with Cyclospora, and ten have been hospitalized.
The parasite is found in stool and causes stomach trouble that can last for weeks. It is treated with antibiotics.
Patients suggest fresh produce or contaminated water could be to blame.
