JUAREZ - For the second time, gunmen in Juarez have tried to kill the commander of an elite police group.

The Juarez Police Department will only identify the target as Commander Moreno for security reasons.

Gunmen tried to shoot him as he left his home this morning.

The gunmen missed.

He returned fire, killing one of them while two others escaped.

Mexico should conduct a nation-wide crackdown of their own. Conduct road blocks, vehicle searches, and shoot suspicious personnel on site; target the cartel's families and seize bank accounts, etc. You've got to hit them where it hurts the most.

I am with you Mexico is not tough enough with these criminals. They should shoot first and ask questions later.
