CLINT - A suspected drunk driver is under arrest after police say he fought off his arrest.

Vicente Martinez-Rivera of Socorro is accused of hitting an electric pole in Clint and falling asleep.

Investigators say when a deputy tried to do a field sobriety test, Martinez-Rivera ran off and when the officer caught up with him, assaulted the officer.

Martinez-Rivera is charged with evading arrest and assaulting a public servant.
