El Paso – A massive blizzard in the Northeast has crippled airline travel as thousands of flights are canceled because of the snow.

A NewsChannel 9 production assistant is one of the thousands of travelers left stranded.

Sarah Gombar is waiting to get a flight from Boston to El Paso and described the chaotic scene at Logan International Airport.

“Its obviously very busy. People are sleeping in the airport and everyone's trying to catch whatever flight they can to get where they finally need to be,” said Gombar in a phone interview. “I wasn't even able to get a flight with the same airline until January. So I ended up canceling that flight altogether and booking with a different airline in order to get back to El Paso.”

Gombar hopes to fly out of Boston on Thursday.
