Sisters arrested attempting to smuggle marijuana at Brownsville port of entry
Brownsville, TX — Two sisters were handed over to Brownsville narcotic agents and arrested for attempting to smuggle over 93 pounds of marijuana at a port of entry on Monday.
The sisters, identified as Micaela Fonseca, 24, and Claricia Fonseca, 25, attempted to cross into the United States in a Lincoln Navigator at the Gateway port of entry in Brownsville, TX.
During an inspection of the vehicle Custom officers found 22 bundles, weighing over 93 pounds, in a spare tire.
The Fonseca sisters were arrested and handed over to Brownsville police and are awaiting arraignment.
