UPDATE: El Paso Police Department has located 61-year-old Manuel Chavez. He is said to be in good condition and is now back home with his family for the holidays.

EARLIER: (December 20) El Paso Police Department are asking for the community's assistance locating a man who wandered away from a Lower Valley Adult Day Care Center Thursday afternoon.

Manuel Chavez, 61, was last seen around 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 19 at the Desert Heaven Adult Daycare Center. Chavez was expected to board a transport bus to take him back to his home on the 11000 block of Starboard, but he was nowhere to be found.

Chavez suffers from dementia and has a history of wandering off. In the past, Chavez has been located in Las Cruces, NM, however investigators believe Chavez may have gone to Mexico this time.

Chavez is described as Hispanic, 5 ft 8 inches tall, weight approximately 170 lbs. He is thin and has short gray hair, brown eyes and a mustache. Chavez was last seen wearing a black and white plaid jacket, blue jeans, black tennis shoes and a black baseball cap.

Anyone with information on Chavez' whereabouts are asked to call police immediately at (915) 832-4400.
