FABENS - Donna Sifford was formally sworn into office this morning as Fabens port director during a CBP Field Operations change of command ceremony.

Family, friends, colleagues and local dignitaries gathered as Ms. Sifford recited the oath of office during a ceremony at Fabens High School.

Sifford will direct operations and enforcement activities at the Fabens port of entry and the Fort Hancock international crossing.

She plans to focus the efforts of her employees to ensure that the agency’s primary mission of preventing terrorists or weapons of terror from entering the United States is accomplished on a daily basis.

“I am committed to preventing all potential threats from entering the United States,” said Sifford. “My priority is to ensure that we continue providing our officers with the tools and resources necessary to effectively secure our borders and to promote the safety and well being of our port neighbors in Fabens, Fort Hancock and the entire area.”
