Shuttle Landing Marks End of Era

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL - A history making day for the space shuttle Discovery.

The orbiter landed at Florida's Kennedy Space Center after making its final voyage into space.

Hundreds of people gathered at the center to watch the landing.

Discovery will now be retired and eventually housed by the Smithsonian Institution.

Discovery ended its flying career with 23 missions, traveling 148 million miles and spending a total of 365 days in space.
