Sheriff's Office releases results of 4th of July operation

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Throughout the July 4 holiday weekend, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office increased its patrols to help the community to celebrate more safely.

According to a news release from EPCSO, the effort resulted in the following:

  • 200 bags of fireworks trash picked up
  • 193 service calls in Montana area (4th of July alone)
  • 89 traffic stops
  • 26 citations for various traffic violations
  • 6 fire-related calls
  • 5 arrests for misdemeanors and felonies
  • 1 designated driver encounter
  • 1 injury report
  • 0 DWIs
