The New Mexico Department of Health Office of Border Health and partners offer a no cost self-defense class in Spanish for local community health workers (promatoras) on Friday, July 25th at Gold Medal Taekwondo at 519 E. Boutz Rd in Las Cruces from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The class is offered in conjunction with the Southern Area Health Education Center (SoAHEC).

“Providing the promatoras in our community the opportunity to learn and participate in practical self defense training offers a chance for them to gain fitness and a greater sense of self awareness and confidence,” said Office of Border Health Director Freida Adams.
