JUAREZ--- It may be Mexico's Independence Day, but hitmen are taking no breaks; killing 18 people total last night including another massacre at a rehab center.
This time, the suspects entered a center in south juarez called "Anexo de Vida," where police say drug addicts are treated.
The center's director, a doctor, and eight patients were killed.
We are not sure exactly how.
Another two were hurt and sent to local hospitals.
Police did not say if this incident was connected to the last massacre, also at a south juarez rehab center. That's where 17 people were lined up against a wall and shot execution-style.
But that wasn't the end to the bloodbath Tuesday night.
Five customers inside a North juarez bar were killed when several suspects walked in and opened fire.
Then Wednesday afternoon, federal agents found one of their own killed right in their parking lot.
Suspects began shooting at the driver of a Mercedes car. That's when the driver and the federal agent were shot and killed.
Another person is in critical condition.
Agents rushed out after hearing the shots fired, to no avail.
The streets around the building were closed off.
Then more bloodshed. NewsChannel 9 received reports the brother of a funeral home owner was executed at the site Tuesday night.
Then, the building itself was set on fire Wednesday morning.
In all of this chaos, not one single arrest.
This, as the total number of murders this year surpasses last year's record 1,600 murders.
