Wells Fargo supports several NMSU programs
Las Cruces, NM (KTSM) — Wells Fargo has announced that it will provide more than $45,000 to various programs at New Mexico State University this year.
“Wells Fargo is proud to support New Mexico State University and is committed to giving back to the Las Cruces community,” said Yolanda Garcia, area president at Wells Fargo.
“The diversity of our sponsorship will ensure we’re not only enabling students to achieve a higher education, but also inspiring them to seek innovative and engaging ways to grow New Mexico’s 21st century economy.”
“Wells Fargo is an important partner for New Mexico State University,” said NMSU President Garrey Carruthers.
“Not only do they contribute to many important programs around campus, their employees also support the university through volunteering and mentorship.
Their Third Annual Economic Outlook Conference, held in February in partnership with NMSU, is just another example of commitment to our community. Close to 250 participants attended including a majority from the local area as well as NMSU employees and students.”
This year’s gifts include $10,000 for the Innoventure program at the Arrowhead Center.
The program is for middle and high school students who use science, technology, engineering and math to solve business and technology challenges, focused on a different theme each year.
Wells Fargo is supporting scholarships as well with $4,750 for President’s Associates Scholarships and $5,000 to support the College of Business Scholarship Luncheon.
They also are supporting the College of Business Hall of Fame Banquet with $5,000 and the Domenici Public Policy Conference with $10,000, as well as a $1,000 membership for the College of Business Advisory Council.
Finally, they support the Red to Green Money Management Program with $10,000 this year for the program that offers free and confidential financial coaching to NMSU students through one-on-one sessions, presentations, social media and special events.
The program educates students on how to make smart choices to reach their financial goals.
