The LCPS Institute for Parent Engagement (IPE) celebrated another successful graduation on Friday, March 21, 2014, as 313 Las Cruces Public Schools parents proudly accepted their certificates of completion and graduation.

NMSU’s Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Daniel Howard presented parents with a certificate of invitation signed by New Mexico State University President Dr. Garrey Carruthers as an invitation for their children to apply at NMSU upon successfully meeting all LCPS graduation requirements.

This is part of an ongoing partnership between LCPS and NMSU to ensure all students have opportunities for higher education.

IPE began with a pilot program at Mayfield High School and Lynn Middle School in the spring of 2013.

It is now in its second semester and has been offered at 12 additional schools.

To date, 770 parents have graduated from the program, but more than 1,000 have participated.
