Las Cruces, NM (NMSU) — New Mexico State University has been ranked as one of the 2014 Best Online Education Programs according to U.S. News & World Report for the second consecutive year.
NMSU is 94th in Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs, 111th in Best Online Graduate Education Programs and 120th in Best Online Bachelor's Programs.
"New Mexico State's degree programs, whether online or face-to-face, are taught by dedicated faculty members with a strong commitment to student success," said Executive Vice President and Provost Daniel J. Howard. "It does not surprise me that our online programs are highly regarded."
"Online nursing programs are important to the profession in that it allows for nurses to access graduate programs from their home communities, which increases the number of nurses with advanced degrees," said Pamela Schultz, College of Health and Social Services School of Nursing Director. "This ultimately eases the nursing shortage and provides crucial nursing care to rural and underserved populations."
In the fall, NMSU was named a top military-friendly school for 2014 by Military Advanced Education and G.I. Jobs. NMSU also ranks as one of the top universities in the country for awarding degrees to American Indian and Hispanic students according to Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.
