The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department is introducing a new city wide opportunity for children interested in learning and playing the sport of basketball.

The league is open to ages 7-14 broken down into the following age groups for boys and girls: 8 and under, 10 and under, 12 and under and 14 and under.

Participants will get a weekly practice to develop their skills and one game a week with the season ending on March 1st.

The registration fee is $40 per player which includes 8 games and practices, a game t-shirt, and medals.

The age cutoff age date to determine the child’s age is September 1, 2014

Hiram Samaniego, League Directors says, “This opportunity makes it more convenient for parents and offers opportunities to the children who do not have teams or who are interested in learning in a less competitive atmosphere.”

Youth scholarships are available and volunteer coaches are also needed.

Register now through the deadline of January 25th at any of game sites below.

Acosta Sports Center, Armijo, Carolina, Don Haskins, Galatzan, Gary Del Palacio, Leona F. Washington, Marty, Robbins Multipurpose, Nolan Richardson, Pat O’Rourke, Pavo Real, Veterans.
