External EPISD curriculum review begins Monday
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The El Paso Independent School District will begin a comprehensive educational systems review on Monday, January 13. EPISD announced that a team of twenty auditors from Iowa based Curriculum Management Systems, Inc. will spend next week visiting campuses, meeting with teachers, counselors, administrators, principals and parents to give EPISD a complete systems analysis.
“A major curriculum audit by Dr. Fenwick English and his staff will help us identify the areas of non-alignment in the teaching and learning process of our organization,” Chief Academic Officer/Deputy Superintendent Ivonne Durant said. “This is a major milestone towards the development of a new program in support of all students. We are excited to have an international expert support our efforts towards transparency as we move forward in our transformation of the El Paso Independent School District.”
The systems review should provide feedback on EPISD's educational system. Parents will have the opportunity to speak directly to auditors to offer feedback about EPISD at the following locations:
- South - January 13, 2014 - 3:30-4:30 pm - Aoy Elementary
- Northeast - January 14, 2014 - 3:15-4:15 pm - Whitaker Elementary Library
- Central - January 14, 2014 - 3:15-4:15 pm - Rusk Elementary Room 22
- West - January 15, 2014 - 3:15-4:15 pm - Guerrero Elementary Community Room
