Eastwood High School is proud to announce that nine students were named National Hispanic College Board Scholars. The school honors them because they have excelled and their success represents what Eastwood is all about---Educational Excellence.

The recipients of the honor are: Amanda Chacon, Candelaria Yanet Duran, Andrea La Porte, Alejandro Loya, Claire Elizabeth O'Beirne, Brittany Renee Ochoa, Jonathan Rubio, Courteney Ann Youngs, and Eric Alan Williams.

According to the College Board website: “The National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) identifies academically outstanding Hispanic/Latino high school students. Each year, the NHRP honors about 5,000 of the highest-scoring students from over 250,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who take the PSAT/NMSQT®. Although the NHRP does not provide a financial reward, being named is an important academic recognition.
