Centennial High School Band is hosting a 12 hour music marathon called Play All Day.

During the event, at least one member of the band, and up to the full 70 member band, will be playing music at all times during a 12 hour period.

The event begins at 7:00 am in the Bank of the West Parking lot downtown.

Financial support of the event is coming through pledges supporting individual band members, corporate sponsorships, breakfast and lunch tickets, raffle tickets and donations collected as the kids play.

“What I love about this event,” says Joseph Flores, Band Director, “is that it is centered around music making. We are able to highlight the student’s talent and music education while still raising the funds we definitely need.”

According to Co-Organizer, Julie Weber, “the music program in the band is doing so well, but as a young program we are still learning how to fundraise as a group and establishing ourselves among 3 other well established high school band programs in the area. We are so grateful to the businesses and individuals who have supported the Centennial High School Band.”

Dawn Starostka, Co-Organizer, says those successes have helped with the initial fundraising. “It is always a difficult task to raise funds. The successes of the band this season have given the program some much needed recognition and the community has been so supportive of this new program, in part because of those successes.”
