Burges teacher resigns after alleged assault
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — A spokesperson with El Paso Independent School district has confirmed that a Burges High School Business teacher has resigned following an alleged assault that occurred on Wednesday, March 5.
Authorities with EPISD state that Ruben Ochoa was removed from the Burges campus the following day, on March 6th and resigned that same day.
District officials declined to comment on the nature of the alleged assault, but did state that EPISD Police issued Ochoa a citation for assault by contact after the incident on March 5th.
EPISD will provide Ochoa's resignation information to the State Board for Educator Certification.
