El Paso - - - A clerk with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office has resigned in disgrace.
Dave Herrera was arrested in a prostitution sting this weekend. Police arrested him in the 1900 block of Texas in Central El Paso Friday night.
Investigators say he offered sex to an undercover male officer for cash.
Sheriff Richard Wiles says nothing would indicate that Herrera would engage in the type of conduct for which he was arrested. Wiles says Herrera's work ethic was above average and if he had not resigned, he would have been fired.
