Some Families Who Depend on Water Deliveries Say Trucks Can't Make It
A few families in Socorro are running out of water because delivery trucks are getting stuck on a sandy road leading to their homes.
Most houses in the Coker Road neighborhood aren't hooked up to the city's water supply and need weekly water deliveries to fill up large tanks on their properties.
But the heavy water trucks can't make it through a pit of fine sand left in the road by last week's heavy rain.
Pete Murillo says he can't afford to pay to have the road repaired and isn't getting any help from the City of Socorro.
NewsChannel 9 found out the city can't repair the road because it's not public.
It's illegal for the city to spend public funds fixing up private property.
Murillo says he hopes a solution if found quick, because he doesn't know how long he can go with an empty water tank.
