EL PASO — Thanks to the outpoor of community help, the Salvation Army now has enough turkeys for its Thanksgiving meal, but they are still in need for other donations.
Earlier this week, News Channel 9 reported that the Salvation Army only had 38 turkeys to feed about one thousand people. But the borderland turned up in full force donating enough birds for the meal.
"We are now looking for the potatoes. 300 pounds of potatoes," said Major Mike Morton. "So that we can fix mashed potatoes. We are looking at stuffing that we can fix and prepare. We need pies."
The Rescue Mission is also looking for donations for their holiday meal. The Salvation Army is at 1949 Paisano and the Rescue Mission is at 4300 Paisano.
