Salinas Bonds Out of Jail

EL PASO - Sunland Park Mayor Pro Tem and mayoral hopeful Daniel Salinas is out of jail. His supporters say he posted bond Thursday night and was at home resting on Friday.

We're told City Manager Jaime Aguilera remains locked up. Both are facing extortion charges, and aren't allowed near city hall. Meanwhile Gerardo Hernandez, the mayoral candidate they're accused of blackmailing with a sex-tape, is still campaigning. He's now hoping voters can forget about the past few weeks.

"I don't know if it's going to be easy or not, but we have a main focus to put our mind on. The important thing is what's going to happen from now on in the City of Sunland Park," Hernandez said. "The past is always gone."

Despite all the controversy with two of the candidates running for mayor, the third candidate, Jose Luis Hernandez, has not been seen campaigning in front of city hall.
