EL PASO - Running a red light on Vista Del Sol led to the crash that killed a Montwood High School student yesterday morning.

Students are speculating Jennifer Gomez  was running late to class.

Gomez was a junior at Montwood, and her classmates in her morning class say she was never late to school and they were worried when she didn't show.

Classmates also say they tried calling her, but she never answered her phone.

Classes begin at 8:15 a.m. and police say the accident happened at 7:58 a.m. 

The intersection where the crash happened is a little more than two miles from the school.
