Rule requiring passengers to turn on electronics expands to U.S. domestic flights
A new rule that will require some passengers to turn on their electronic devices before flying from overseas into the United States is expanding. It will now also apply to domestic flights, happening just within the U.S.
A U.S. officials says it will affect a very limited number of passengers, who already get enhanced screening because they're on watch lists. If their electronics won't turn on, they'll have to leave them behind or not fly. The measure is in response to concerns that terrorists are trying to figure out new ways to sneak explosives onto planes.
