Routine traffic stop in central El Paso ends in an arrest
EL PASO, TX — What started as a routine traffic stop early Thursday morning, ended in an arrest in central El Paso.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. on Idalia and Raynor.
El Paso police say they asked the driver of the car to pull over, but shortly after he did, the unidentified driver tried to take off. That's when he crashed into a police patrol unit. Then, the driver got out of the car and took off running. Police on the scene eventually caught the man, and arrested him. No word on what those charges are.
