EL PASO - Months of hard work paid off for some high school students in Northeast El Paso Saturday morning.

The kids spent the last month designing, building and programming robots to navigate an obstacle course.

Western Technical College sponsored the "T-Robo Competition" at its Northeast campus. Organizers say it's all about getting students interested in careers involving science, technology, engineering and math.

"We really want to get more students involved in those careers and those skills, so Western Tech is sponsoring this to get students excited about science and engineering," Oscar Perez said.

Everyone on the winning team got a $1,000.00 scholarship to Western Tech.
