Sheriff's Department to Assist With Take-Back Program

Doña Ana County residents with unused, expired or unwanted prescription medications are encouraged to participate in an annual drug take-back program on Sept. 29;

The program, organized by various local law enforcement agencies, gives the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous drugs. The service is free and anonymous. All drugs surrendered are destroyed.

Several locations around Doña Ana County will host take-back sites, and will be accepting medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
