Shoppers small and grown took to second hand stores in El Paso Saturday.

"I just like to save in general so if there's an opportunity I'll go for it,” Yvonne LeFrance of West El Paso told us. Shoppers went for used jeans, shirts, and school supplies – all of which are tax exempt.

"It's been really busy. We've had people come from New Mexico, come from all over and they're buying in bulk, too,” Lindy Cisco said. Cisco is the Owner of Plato’s Closet and she said she has seen almost 50-percent more shoppers for tax-free weekend versus any other, "We have a [sic] influx of more people this weekend more than normal."

Another second hand store that has seen more people than usual is the Goodwill store in the Coronado Shopping Center.

"I would say, probably 4-times as much. Yeah, it's been a lot of people in and out and lines all day,” Jose Rede, the Assistant Manager of the store told us. Rede also said, they’re offering a 50-percent discount on top of tax free weekend. "It's been really busy."

Shoppers are delighted by the savings, including Anai Muñoz. "Well, I have a daughter and I'm going back to school,” Muñoz said. Those two factors, she says, drives up her desire to save money for not only her future, but her daughter’s. "I'm hoping a good amount, at least. yeah, how much are you willing to spend this weekend? No more than 200."

The temporary discount is welcome, whether they're going back to school. "I like to look for clothes for cheap,” LeFrance exclaimed, or they're just an avid shopper.
