Research Shows Sugar Can Help Babies Deal With Pain

Just a spoonful of sugar could help your baby's shots or vaccinations hurt less. A new study found babies did not cry for as long after a vaccination when they were given drops of a sugar solution shortly before the injection.

Researchers say the sugar may trigger the release of chemicals that help with pain relief or the taste may induce feelings of comfort in young children.
