Report shows dentist shortage in New Mexico
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Results from the Pew Children's Dental Report showed New Mexico ranks towards the bottom of the list in available dental care.
New Mexico ranked as having the fourth worst dentist shortage in the nation.
The report stated more than 24 percent of the population is underserved.
The report also showed 45 percent of dentists in New Mexico are over the age of 55 and nearing retirement age.
