Imagine spending $150,000 more than you can afford. That's the problem right now for the American Red Cross in El Paso.

The agency has far exceeded last year's budget of $110,000. Local Red Cross president Mark Matthys said the reason for going over budget was the record number of people displaced by house fires.

He said the agency's reserves are wiped out, and they need your help. You can drop off a donation at 3620 Admiral St. or to donate online, go to redcrosselpaso.org. They also need volunteers.
