EL PASO — Two men were charged for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing a victim in front of a Red Box video rental machine on Piedras Sunday night.
Investigators said 38-year-old Gerardo Sanchez was approached by Daniel Chavez, 29, who questioned his gang affiliation. Sanchez replied that he was not a gang member and police said after a brief verbal confrontation Chavez stabbed the victim in the liver with a knife.
After stabbing the victim Chavez fled the scene in a gold Pontiac G-6 driven by Juan Delgado, 30, police said. Both were spotted later in the evening driving the Pontiac G-6, and were stopped by police. Both were subsequently arrested.
Sanchez was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
