Record pot bust at local port of entry
COLUMBUS, N.M. (KTSM) — One local port of entry saw a record marijuana bust Tuesday afternoon.
Customs and Border Protection agents at the Columbus, N.M. Port of entry stopped a tractor-trailer hauling ceramic tile around 1 p.m.
Inside hollowed boxes were nearly 2,400 pounds of pot.
The drugs filled the back of a CBP pick-up truck.
The last time agents at that port of entry stopped a drug smuggling attempt near this size was 15 years ago in 1998.
Despite the big bust, no arrests were made.
