RAMOS & COMPEAN: Civil Rights Group Speaks Out

Just one day after Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean were released from federal prison, Paso Del Norte Civil Rights Project is saying they don't agree with the decision. Leaders of the civil rights group have posted a statement on their Myspace page saying releasing the two men was wrong.
"We feel that it encourages law enforcement officers to violate civil rights and to break the law," Briana Stone said.
Supporters of the former agents have said all along the government was too hard on the men when it came to sentencing. Both men were convicted after the man they shot testified against them.
The agents were sentenced to 10 and 11 years.
"I feel really sad, i feel like the lives of people here on the border, of migrants aren't valued the same as other people," Briana Stone said. "I feel that it's just another example of how our civil rights are in danger."

I just want to understand, they were the law (clear) why they covered it, and here are my questions:
1. Were they really protecting the border?
2. Were they in it?
3. What went wrong?
4. Why put a lid on it?

10 months agoSeems as though the Paso Del Norte Civil Rights Project is in the minority about Ramos and Compean. Apparently Ms. Stone and her Civil Rights group condone drug smuggling and the government's use of a witness that had more than a questionable background.
Instead, the Paso Del Norte Civil Rights Project should have been protecting the rights of Ramos and Compean who literally got the shaft from the government and its use of a known drug smuggler to help convict them.
Too bad Ms. Stone and her Civil Rights group don't know a government set up when they see one. Justice was literally blind in this case.
I support Ramos and Compean 110% and the Del Norte Civil Rights Project can take that one to the bank.
