Press conference held about first bilateral arm transplant
Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore held a press conference Tuesday to discuss the first bilateral arm transplant held at the renowned medical hospital.
Doctors who performed the surgery on the Iraq War Veteran, were there to discuss how it went and the long road of recovery ahead.
The surgery was performed last month on Brendan Marrocco,26, an infantryman who lost all four limbs in a roadside bomb attack in Iraq back in 2009.
He was officially discharged from the hospital Tuesday, but it will be another 2 to 3 years before they know what his final functionality will be.
