President Obama scheduled to meet with Pope Francis for first time
CNN - VATICAN — The White House announced President Obama will meet with Pope Francis for the first time on March 27, 2014.
The meeting will take place at the Vatican. Obama's visit with the leader of the Roman Catholic Church will be part of a larger European trip.
The White House says President Obama looks forward to discussing with Pope Francis their shared commitment to fighting poverty and growing inequality. Obama cited the Pope's inequality stance in an economic address in December.
