President Barack Obama spoke to the nation tonight, sharing the nation's heartache and condolences  with families of the elementary school killing spree and joining the community in a memorial service.

"Here in Newtown, I come to offer the love and prayers of a nation. I am very mindful that mere words cannot match the depths of your sorrow nor can they heal your wounded hearts. I can only hope it helps to know that you are not alone in your grief."

Mister Obama added he would use the power of the presidency to make changes to prevent more tragedies like what happened on Friday.

He closed his remarks by slowly reading the first names of each of the 26 victims.

"God has called them all home. For those of us who remain, let us find the strength to carry on and make our country worthy of their memory," he said.

Police have now confirmed that Adam Lanza, shot his way into Sandy Hook Elementary school with a semi-automatic rifle that he also carried two high powered pistols and several multi-round clips of ammunition, with hundreds of bullets.

A final report from the medical examiner shows that his mother Nancy died from multiple gunshot wounds and that Lanza's death has been ruled a suicide. Investigators are now actively seeking out individuals they say are involved in a series of false and malicious posts on-line.

"Anyone that harasses, threatens or intimidates or interferes with the investigation utilizing any social media of any type relative to this horrid crime will be fully investigated and prosecuted. " said Lt. Paul Vance, Connecticut State Police

Swat teams today surrounded a local church during noon mass after what they termed a "threatening" phone call, which turned out to be a hoax but still forced mourners to evacuate.
