Power restored to 7,000 Las Cruces customers
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — UPDATE: At approximately 2:30 p.m., power was fully restored to customers in Las Cruces. EP Electric says that a bird got into electrical equipment and caused the outage. Horizon customers also had their power restored around 2:10 p.m. No word on what caused that outage.
El Paso Electric crews are currently en route to Las Cruces where approximately 7,034 customers are without power at this time.
The outage was reported at 1:50 p.m. At this time, crews are unsure what caused the outage and are working to restore power as quickly as possible.
A second large power outage has also been reported in Horizon, 2,761 customers are without power. A second crew is en route to that outage.
