Possible Trial Dates Set for David Marmolejo
A status hearing was held Tuesday for David Marmolejo. He's accused in the strangling death of his mother, Gloria, last summer. Her body was found dumped in the Santa Teresa desert nearly a week after she went missing.
At the hearing, the judge decided on three possible trial start dates for Marmolejo. They are: July 16, August 6 or September 10.
The venue for that trial has not been decided. A secretary for Judge Gonzalo Garcia, the judge presiding over the Marmolejo trial, tells Newschannel 9 that a meeting on a change of venue request will happen at a later date. Marmolejo's lawyers have argued that media coverage on the murder wouldn't allow Marmolejo to get a fair trial in El Paso.
