YWCA Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center Administrator, Kathy Cox, was named President of the El Paso Coalition for the Homeless on November 20, 2013.

This position runs for two years.

The El Paso Coalition for the Homeless, an independent non-profit corporation, was founded in 1992 as a means of bringing together local service providers to address the issues of homelessness in El Paso.

Today, the Coalition is a driving force in insuring that the needs of homeless El Pasoans are being met so that homelessness becomes rare and brief.

One of the transitional shelters included in the coalition is the YWCA Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center (TLC) which provides housing to women for up to two years. Kathy Cox is the administrator of the TLC.

The goal of the YWCA TLC is to provide a safe, secure housing environment with programming to empower women (with or without children) to obtain employment and permanent housing.
