The Sun Metro LIFT has been awarded MV Transportation’s quarterly safety award for the Southwest region.

The LIFT, which is operated by MV Transportation’s El Paso division, operates a fleet of 69 vehicles to deliver safe and reliable on-demand transportation for its passengers with disabilities throughout El Paso for a variety of reasons to include medical appointments, school and work.

The quarterly safety award program was created by MV to encourage safety awareness among its vehicle operators with the ultimate goal of promoting a continued focus on safety and safe behaviors. Award scoring was based on a wide range of measurable criteria including adherence to company safety policies, as well as minimizing preventable accidents and on-board vehicle camera activity.

MV Area Safety Director Aaron Gonzalez presented the safety award and the traveling trophy to the El Paso team.

“Winning the award is a significant achievement as El Paso competed with a number of other large MV divisions in the region,” Gonzalez said. “Safety is a central part of our culture at MV. This award is a wonderful reflection of the entire El Paso team’s dedication to creating a safe environment for their passengers, operators and the local community.”

Jeanie Chrisman, General Manager of MV’s El Paso division said she’s proud of her team for winning this significant award which validates their dedication to safety. The next quarterly MV safety award will be announced in August, and Sun Metro’s LIFT is expecting to repeat their victory.
“We will continue to set the safety standard,” Chrisman said. “We intend to keep the trophy right here in El Paso.”
