One hundred El Paso families will have a very Merry Christmas thanks to Benny's Pawn Shop. The shop, located at 1140 Airway, is giving away a hundred Christmas dinner care packages to Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso families on Saturday morning.

Each family who receives a box will get a turkey, a gallon of milk, boxed mashed potatoes and stuffing, a pumpkin pie, butter and gravy, cranberry sauce, canned corn, pineapple and green beans, cheese and uncooked macaroni.

Benny's Pawn Shop started the turkey giveaway three years ago, when then 19-year-old Gabe Frank, son of owner Saul Frank, became a volunteer mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“Providing a warm meal for a family in need is what the Christmas spirit is about and I’ve learned from my son that the bigger gift in all of this is the mentoring that he and the other Big Brother Big Sisters volunteers provide for kids who need someone to look up to. I’m proud of my son for being a part of this program and for coming to me to organize this big turkey giveaway,” said Saul Frank, Owner Benny’s Pawn Shop.

“We're so grateful to Gabe for not only being a great mentor, but also bringing us into the Benny's family that does so much for the children in our program,” said Rebecca Moreno, Marketing Coordinator Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso.

Benny's Pawn Shop has been a fixture in the El Paso Community for 67 years. The business is family owned and operated in El Paso and currently has seven locations throughout the El Paso area. The Christmas dinner care packages will be distributed at their location at 1140 Airway at 10:00 a.m.. on Saturday, December 21st.
