El Paso Zoo elephants to make Super Bowl predictions
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — According to multiple sources, there will be a wild and crazy party at the El Paso Zoo this Saturday. The hosts are the prized pachyderms, Savannah and Juno, El Paso Zoo's Asian Elephants.
The party is in anticipation of the 2014 Super Bowl, which sets the Denver Broncos against the Seattle Seahawks, equine vs. osprey, respectively.
As part of their daily fun activity, Savannah and Juno will attempt to predict the winner of this year's Super Bowl by casting their vote by selecting the helmet shaped piñata set out for them in their exhibit by their keepers.
Which team will the pair of playful pachyderms choose? You're invited to attend and find out, Saturday, February 1 at 2:15 p.m. at the El Paso Zoo's Elephant Exhibit in the Asia Section in the Zoo.
“Even though the elephants aren’t making a conscience prediction, this is a fun way to involve our visitors in the enrichment program. All of our animals love their daily treats and this will be “super” fun,” said Carrie Trudeau, Animal Enrichment Coordinator.
When El Paso Zoo's twitter celebrity Zebra, Stormy, was asked if he would be attending the Super Bowl party, his response was tongue in cheek, as always.
