El Paso Rhinos shave heads for childhood cancer research
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The El Paso Rhino's hockey team has announced a partnership with St. Baldrick's Foundation in order to raise money for childhood cancer research.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation hold signature head-shaving events throughout the country in order to raise money for research. The Rhinos are trying to raise $2,000 with more than 30 participants registered to shave their heads following the Rhino's game on Saturday, March 15th with all of the proceeds going toward cancer research.
Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and one in five children diagnosed in the U.S. will not survive. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven and donor-centered charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research and funding the most promising research initiatives to find cures.
The El Paso Rhinos hockey players, coaches and staff will shave their heads following the game on Saturday, March 15th at the Sierra Providence Events Center, 4100 E. Paisano Dr. If you are interested in donating toward the Rhino's $2,000 fundraising goal, you can do so online at their event page website.
