El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Students are getting to rock and roll their way to graduation at a unique school in far east El Paso.
The A&R School of Audio and Recording is getting ready to say farewell to its first class and is getting ready for its new set of students.
"There's a great start right here, you know, and the school's growing. In El Paso's first year, I can tell it's going to get bigger, but I think people just got to realize it's not that scary to do something like this. It's just a matter in appreciating what we got here and seeing that things are growing and things are getting better as far as our industry goes," said Kevin Arellano, a student looking forward to graduating.
As they get ready for new students, the recording school will be having their first open house located at 12850 Montana on Saturday, August 2nd.
"I was going to go out of state to... for college to study the exact same thing at a university. I heard about the school and it was exactly what I was going to learn over there out of state and I just decided to stay here," said Jose Clanche, another graduating student.
The school wants to expand the knowledge of producing music and welcomes all El Pasoans interested in the music industry to come to their open house held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This studio also benefits local artist since they can actually record demos for free, only if they let the students produce them.
'I know there's a lot of talent here and probably, what I'm trying to do here is trying to get them up because you know what? Through music, enjoying the good life through music, is the most beautiful thing," said Vavy Lozano, the director of A&R Studios.
